Having contested the Aussie Racing Cars series over the past two seasons, the team stepped back from the series in 2026.
Main driver Jack Boyd raced at the opening event of the season at Bathurst under his own ‘Boyd Racing’ banner, finishing third for the round.
The team returns with a pair of entries in the Circuit Excel Nationals – one for Boyd and one for team co-owner Asher Johnston.
Johnston has raced his own Excel at The Bend and Mallala throughout the start of 2026 in South Australian state events.
“It’s great to be back in the Excel, racing nationally again. It’s effectively the same team we had for our tilt in 2019, with the addition of Jack in the other car,” said Johnston.
“It’s already been productive, we had a good test day together, and quite a lot of work behind the scenes on both cars.

“We didn’t touch ours for almost two years until December last year, and everyone has caught up quite a lot in that time.
“Having two cars has sped the development process up, hopefully it’ll be enough to keep us at the pointy end.
“It’s also awesome to have Team Inverell, led by Ben at Inverell Ford, behind us. Having them stand by us after all the drama from the previous category means a lot.”
Boyd makes his solo driver debut in the Excel, having been a front-runner in Aussie Racing Cars throughout 2025.
“Looking forward to my solo Excel debut at the Nationals this weekend,” said Boyd.
“A huge thanks to Ben at Inverell Ford for trusting me with his car and the entire crew for the countless hours helping bring me up to speed.”
The event will be held at The Bend Motorsport Park on June 13-14, culminating in a 40-minute feature race on Sunday.
